Dr. Bardur Sigurgeirsson is dermatologist with a long and distinguished career ranging from leading basic scientific research to teaching, patient care and clinical research.
Dr. Sigurgeirsson grew up in Iceland and received his medical degree at University of Iceland
. He completed his dermatology training at the University of Iceland. He did basic immunology research training at the Landspitali University Hospital in Iceland.
Dr. Sigurgeirsson completed his training in Dermatology at the Karolinska Hospital
in Stockholm, Sweden. He did is basic research training at the distinguished Karolinska Institute
in Stockholm and defended hiss thesis in 1992 (Skin Disease and Malignancy). The Karolinska Institute is known all over the world for awarding the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
Dr. Sigurgeirsson has been doing clinical research since 1995. He has been the principal investigator on several studies. Has served as a member of several medical advisory boards and been a consultant for the pharmaceutical industry.
Dr. Sigurgeirsson has been a speaker and invited at several medical congresses including the American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting.
Dr. Sigurgeirsson is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Dermatology, University of Iceland. He has published the result of his research in highly rated dermatological journals and general medical journals such as the Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine.
